Martine Weber

Martine Weber is a self-taught painter based in Utrecht. Creativity has been a constant thread throughout her life. After taking painting classes at the Volksuniversiteit, she began working with acrylics and oil pastels in 2023. In addition to painting, she writes poetry and creates music under the name Sofie Weber, where the same sensitivity and imagination resonate through her work.

Työni ilmaisee syvää yhteyttä ympäristööni. Maalaan kaupunkimaisemia ja maisemia sellaisina kuin koen ne, antaen muodon yhdessäolon hetkille ja jaetulle elämälle. Toisinaan ihmis- ja eläinhahmot ilmestyvät rinnakkain, heijastellen tunteita ja yhteyttä hiljaisessa vuoropuhelussa ihmisyyden ja luonnollisen sukulaisemme välillä, jonka kanssa jaamme Maamme.

Maalaaminen antaa minulle suunnan ja merkityksen. Jokaisella siveltimenvedolla käännän sisäisen maailmani — sen rytmin, värit ja tunnelmat — visuaaliseksi tarinaksi. Maalaukset tuovat eloon ympäröivän maailman energian: värikkään, kerrostuneen ja liikkeessä olevan.

Minun silmieni kautta myös Utrecht herää eloon ikonisten maamerkkiensä, piilotettujen kolkkiensa ja omaleimaisen tunnelmansa kanssa. Jokainen maalaus on sekä visuaalinen ilmaisu että henkilökohtainen kertomus, vangittuna kankaalle muiden koettavaksi omalla tavallaan.

    Two Paintings Showcased at ART GAMEREN IX I’m excited to announce that two of my recent paintings were featured in the ART GAMEREN IX exhibition, held on October 4th, 5th, and 6th, 2024 at Ridderstraat 23 in Gameren. This special event, hosted by Caroline and Jacqueline Mulder from GrachtenGalerie (Utrecht) offered visitors a chance to explore new works of art within a stunning countryside setting.
