✨ may we paint a beautiful future ✨
Hi there! I’m Martine, an artist based in the heart of Utrecht.
My work expresses a deep connection with my surroundings. I paint cityscapes and landscapes as I experience them, giving shape to moments of togetherness and shared life. At times, human and animal figures appear side by side, reflecting emotion and connection in a quiet dialogue between humanity and the natural kin we share our Earth with.
Painting gives me direction and meaning. With every brushstroke, I translate my inner world — its rhythm, colours, and moods — into a visual story. My paintings bring to life the energy of the world around me: colourful, layered, and in motion.
Through my eyes, Utrecht also comes alive with its iconic landmarks, hidden corners, and distinctive atmosphere. Each painting is both a visual expression and a personal narrative, captured on canvas for others to experience in their own way.
Several weekends a year or on request, I exhibit in a Canal Wharf cellar on one of the most beautiful stretches of the Oudegracht in Utrecht. This includes three Sundays at the end of January and February 2024. Information and announcements can be found under the 'News' tab.

Two Paintings Showcased at ART GAMEREN IX I’m excited to announce that two of my recent paintings were featured in the ART GAMEREN IX exhibition, held on October 4th, 5th, and 6th, 2024 at Ridderstraat 23 in Gameren. This special event, hosted by Caroline and Jacqueline Mulder from GrachtenGalerie (Utrecht) offered visitors a chance to explore new works of art within a stunning countryside setting. The exhibition took place in a beautifully restored farmhouse, complemented by a sculpture garden, creating the perfect environment to display a variety of artistic creations. The exhibition space was truly unique, providing room and justice to each artwork, allowing every piece to tell its own story and fully shine in its own right. For more information on upcoming exhibitions or to inquire about my latest work, feel free to contact me directly.
